I Read 1,711 Reviews of "Ozempic" Supplements
TikTok calls berberine “Nature’s Ozempic”, and Kourtney Kardashian’s brand sells a GLP-1 pill. We read 1,711 customer reviews of three of the most-hyped “GLP-1” supplements on the brands’ own sites, then set each bottle against the published science. The short answer: the reviews talk about appetite, the studies show little or no weight change, and the best-studied option has a small effect.
What we checked
| Product | Price | Where, when |
|---|---|---|
| Lemme Reset (formerly Lemme GLP-1 Daily) | $80 (launched at $90) | lemmelive.com, 30 Sep 2026 |
| Thorne Berberine | $44 | thorne.com, 30 Sep 2026 |
| Pendulum GLP-1 Probiotic | $89 ($64 on subscription) | pendulumlife.com, 30 Sep 2026 |
We read every review publicly shown on each brand’s site on 30 September 2026: 1,191 for Lemme, 514 for Thorne and 6 for Pendulum. We counted reviews that mentioned appetite or cravings, weight, or blood sugar, and those that named a specific number of pounds lost, then checked those for mentions of dieting, exercise or other weight-loss drugs. Reviews are self-reported, unverified and appear on the sellers’ own sites. They tell you how people feel, not what a product does.
What the label said
The bar to beat. GLP-1 is a hormone the gut releases when you eat; it helps you feel full [4]. Ozempic copies it and makes it last a week. In the large STEP 1 trial of the same drug, people lost about 15% of their body weight [3]. That is the benchmark any “GLP-1” supplement invites comparison with.
Lemme. The brand launched its pill at $90 and it was widely covered [9, 10]. The product is now sold as Lemme Reset. Lemme’s own page says there is no GLP-1 inside [12].
Thorne Berberine. Berberine comes from plants such as barberry. #berberine has passed 75 million views on TikTok [7], and CNN covered the “Nature’s Ozempic” label in 2023 [8].
Pendulum. Its page says 91% of people reported fewer cravings. The small print says plainly that it is not intended for weight loss [12].
What the evidence shows
Round one: Lemme. Across 1,191 reviews the average was 4.3 stars, and about half mentioned appetite, cravings or “food noise”. Only 97 reviewers, about one in 12, named a number of pounds lost. Their typical figure was seven pounds, and about a quarter of them were also dieting, exercising or on another weight-loss drug.
The GLP-1 ingredient is a lemon extract. In its main trial, GLP-1 levels rose by about 15%, but weight did not change [1]. Lemme was also named in a proposed class action alleging false advertising [11]. That is an allegation, not a ruling.
Round two: berberine. Thorne’s 514 reviews averaged 4.4 stars. Reviewers mentioned blood sugar almost twice as often as weight loss. Only six named a number of pounds lost, and half of those were also dieting, exercising or on medication.
The science here was the strongest of the three. When researchers pooled 12 trials, berberine beat placebo by about 2kg [2]. That is real, but small next to Ozempic. Berberine can interact with medicines and is not for pregnancy or breastfeeding [6].
Round three: Pendulum. On its own site the probiotic had six reviews, all five stars. The 91% figure comes from a survey of 274 customers with no placebo group [12].
The pattern. Stars measure how people feel. Studies measure what changes. Across all three bottles, those two things did not line up.
The verdict
Of the three, plain berberine has the best evidence: a small effect, about 2kg over placebo when 12 trials were pooled, with real interaction risks that make a pharmacist’s check essential. Lemme and Pendulum are a wait, not because they are shown to be dangerous, but because neither has shown it moves the scale. The free option beats every bottle on cost: your gut makes GLP-1 each time you eat, and meals built around protein and fibre tend to prompt more of it [4, 5]. Pairing that with a short walk after eating will not match Ozempic, but it costs nothing extra.
Berberine has the best evidence of the three, but it is small; protein, fibre and a walk cost nothing.
Worth knowing
- Reviews on a brand’s own site are a selected sample. Look for what reviewers did besides take the product.
- A rise in a hormone level is not the same as weight loss. Check what a study actually measured.
- Berberine can interact with prescription medicines. If you take any medicine, are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting a supplement.
- If you are thinking about weight medication, ask your doctor whether you qualify and what it would cost.
- This is information, not medical advice.
