About Pink Popcorn
Pink Popcorn is for women who want to know whether a beauty or wellness product, trend or headline holds up before they spend money or time on it. That includes mothers sorting out what their tweens and teens are being sold.
We do three things.
The feed
The homepage gathers the latest stories on skincare, hair, makeup, women's health, food, fitness and the mind from the sources we read: research write-ups, cosmetic chemists and scientists, edited magazines, the beauty trade press and a few individual writers. It updates every 30 minutes.
Every story shows who published it and a label saying what kind of source they are: Research, Expert, Magazine, Industry, Personal or Web. What each label means. We show the headline, the publisher's own short summary and a link to the original. We don't copy articles, and we don't republish anyone's photographs.
The reviews
Several times a week we take one product category that is getting attention, usually four products across the price range, and check it properly. We read the label, find the studies behind the ingredients, look at what those studies actually tested, and gather what reviewers, makeup artists and editors found. Then we say which one we would choose and why.
Each review is a film on our YouTube channel and a written post on our blog, with every source listed.
Short posts
Shorter posts go out daily on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Shorts, each naming the source it comes from.
What we stand by
- No sponsors. No brand pays for a post, and no brand sees one before it goes out.
- Every price shown, with where and when we checked it.
- Every claim sourced, with study sizes in the text and the brand's own tests named as the brand's own.
- No fear. We lead with the surprising, sourced fact, never with something to be frightened of.
- Not medical advice. We explain what the evidence says. What is right for you is a conversation with a clinician.
How we pick sources, read studies and handle corrections is set out in How we check.
