How we check
This page sets out the rules behind everything Pink Popcorn publishes: the feed, the reviews and the short daily posts.
Sources
The feed reads public sources we have chosen and labels each one by kind: Research, Expert, Magazine, Industry, Personal or Web. A label tells you what kind of source it is, not whether a particular story is right. What each label means.
Illness, tragedy and shopping round-ups stay off our social posts, even when they appear in the feed.
Reading the evidence
When we review a product we:
- start with the label: the ingredients, the amounts where they are printed, and the claims on the pack;
- find the studies behind those ingredients and say what was actually tested: on people or in a lab dish, how many people, for how long, and at what strength compared with the product;
- name a brand's own tests as the brand's own, and treat small or brand-run studies as promises, not proof;
- say who paid for a study when it was sponsored;
- gather what reviewers found, including magazine editors, makeup artists and creators, and say when a creator was gifted the product or works with the brand.
A review ends with a clear verdict: which product we would choose, for whom, and why.
Prices
Every price is shown with where and when we checked it. Prices change, so check before you buy.
Money
- No sponsorships. No brand pays for a post or sees one before it goes out.
- Gifts. We don't ask brands for products. If a brand sends one, we will say so in the post.
- Affiliate links. Some video descriptions carry affiliate links, which pay us a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. They are labelled where they appear. A product we tell you to wait on never gets one, and a link never changes a verdict.
AI tools
Our films are narrated by a synthetic voice, and we use AI tools to help draft scripts, captions and the short daily posts. Daily posts are built from a story's headline and its publisher's own summary, and always name the source. Our reviews and blog posts are researched and checked against their sources before they are published.
Health
We explain what the evidence says about a product or a habit. We never diagnose, and we never give a dose. For anything about your own health, talk to a clinician.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say what changed at the end of the post. You can tell us about a mistake on Instagram or Facebook.
